Nu får ni ta på er dom amerikanska glasögonen gott folk =)
Här är mitt bidrag till tävlingen jag syftade på igår kväll
My favorite Fall Out Boy memory isn’t seeing theme live or meeting them… I live in the very most southern part of Sweden, and the last time Fall Out Boy visited my part of the world was in march ’07 =( (They should come around more often!) I didn’t buy my first FOB albums until June ’07…
My favorite memory is having Folie á Deux being the soundtrack during the delivery of my second baby! =)
My husband got me FAD for Christmas, just a week and a half shy of my due date. I listened to it around the house while caring for my then 14 month old daughter and thought the album was sooo good! My due date (Jan 3rd ’09) came and went and still now baby… It wasn’t until the early morning of Jan 12th that I started having labor contractions. At 3:15 pm we decided to get in the car and drive to the hospital. I gathered my things including FAD and From Under The Cork Tree, Infinity on High was in the car but we took my moms car (babysitter for our daughter) and forgot all about getting the CD, what with the pain and all!
We got to the hospital at around 4:15 pm and the contractions hurt more and more and got closer and closer. The mid-wife hooked me up to a CTG-machine (it monitors the baby’s heartbeats och the duration and strength of the contractions). Everything was fine and normal =) So we started listening to FOB to make the wait for our new baby more fun ;)
A while later I asked to have a mask of laughing gas hooked up in my room, to ease the pain of the contractions. My FOB memory from that night is singing along to the music, my voice all hoarse from the laughing gas (and the screaming) and being so totally exhausted, but still singing along with Patrick “Detox just to retox, detox just to retox” and to “I Don’t Care”, trying to pump myself up in between contractions. I only remember hearing the first two or three songs on each album, the rest is kinda blurry… But the music helped me through it!
At 9:03 pm my son entered the world (after only 10 puny minutes of pushing) to the sounds of FOB! Could there possibly be a better way to enter life than that??
“Then came a baby boy with long eyelashes…”
And here his is, my beautiful son Caspian!
